Caring For Bats

Motion Design & Illustration

Conceptual Project Client: The Australian Museum

Bats have historically been perceived negatively by the public as pests, monsters and other false myths, which have greatly impacted their population. My response aims to dispel myths and encourage audiences to foster an appreciation for bats through their impact to the Australian ecosystem.

Through a nostalgic style, cosy colour palette, and frame by frame animation, I wanted children to be entranced by the trendy aesthetic and adults to recognise a sense of familiarity to childhood edutainment, in order to harness their empathy to protect bats.
